Cassie currently lives in Washington, D.C., where she mobilizes and equips advocates to influence their members of Congress on global poverty issues. After graduating from St. Olaf College in 2015, Cassie spent her LVC volunteer year in Minneapolis advocating for affordable housing with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, where she grew her interest in local history and her love for making advocacy fun and accessible for all. Her LVC year also shaped how she is in the world, calling her to live simpler and stay engaged.
After moving to D.C., Cassie stayed involved with LVC, serving as a community mentor and interviewing applicants. Now, she is thrilled to serve on the board because she cares deeply about supporting and equipping others in their career/vocational discernment to work for peace with justice. She currently serves as the board’s Vice Chair and the Chair of the Board Development and Nomination Committee.
Cassie is “Minnesota-grown,” and thus has a healthy love for camping & hiking, the extremes of all four seasons, and wild rice soup. She also loves to read socially-aware fiction.
