Casa Romero: Remember to give thanks, always!

Casa Romero: Remember to give thanks, always!

Greetings from Casa Romero!! It’s almost time for our first Fall Retreat and last but not least, turkey day! However, we must always remember to give thanks for the things we have everyday and not just on Thanksgiving Day. As we are fresh and adjusting to the LVC life, we have expressed moments of gratitude to one another while embracing the challenges we face as a house. We are still going through the journey of finding ways to appreciate everything and give back to the community we live in, while building a strong foundation in our community in the Casa Romero House.
As we embark on this new journey, Casa Romero wants to focus more on the importance of how we can play a more active role in our community. In addition to being more active, we demonstrate that we are grateful for everything that we have daily, for there are people who live among us who may be without. I’m sure we are aware that it’s not always about the things we have physically, it’s about what we have mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

For that, you should ask yourself one of these questions: How am I doing today? Do I truly love myself? What am I going to do to make it count? What can I do to make an impact in the community I live in? How can I help and what can I learn? We’re all life-long learners. We don’t always have the answers or it isn’t as simple as I’ve put it, but always remember that even when you’re not at ease, dealing with a difficult situation in your community or in your life, always give thanks.

As a house we all have encountered challenges in the past month, some were good and some were difficult but in the midst of it, we keep a open-mind and know that regardless of what’s occurring, we have to move forward and remember why we’re here. We must remember that it isn’t just about ourselves, it’s about everyone in the community.

I urge everyone in the LVC community to continue to be positive, supportive, and spread love in everything that you do. Don’t just Observe your surroundings-take it in and embrace everything you see. Be grateful that you were able to see another day because someone didn’t have that choice today.

Much Love,

Casa Romero House
