Is LVC the year you’re taking to help discern whether your next step is applying for seminary?
Have you felt called to be a pastor, minister, or community organizer that ministers to others on their life journey, but you’re unsure of your call or response?
LVC has a long tradition of being a way station for Volunteers contemplating going to seminary, and many LVCers have become pastors in Lutheran and other churches.
LVC is creating paths for Volunteers interested in seminary to use the service year to also determine next steps for religious service, education, and development.
- ELCA Washington DC Synod Partnership — LVC and the DC Synod have partnered to offer LVC Volunteers the opportunity to join the Synod’s annual discernment group while doing the LVC year of service. Visit the DC Synod’s YEAR OF DISCERNMENT page to learn about program expectations, and consider how your engagement in an official discernment process might round out your service year.
