To work out more, clear your skin, find a new job, start dating again. These resolutions are fine on their own, but the way our society treats them is not. LVC celebrates Erika Dornfeld for her 3.5 years as Program Manager in the Midwest!

Erika is a 2009-11 Chicago alum who served at Faith in Place. After LVC, Erika attended University of Chicago Divinity School, where she focused on environmental ethics and theology before becoming Program Manager for Chicago, Milwaukee and Omaha in 2015. LVC wishes Erika well in her new role as Director of Field Education and Community Engagement back at the University of Chicago!

Erika fondly remembers four National Orientations, moments of hilarity at Retreats, and times of courage and vulnerability with her Volunteers.

She said, “LVC has given me the chance to interact with dedicated people working for peace and justice in a huge range of contexts. It has been such a rewarding experience to walk alongside volunteers and organizations as they engage diverse, complex problems in their communities. I am extremely grateful for my time on staff to witness and contribute to future lives of service, and will miss it a lot!”

Thank you for sharing your gifts, Erika – blessings!
