Client Communication Specialist – Lifelong AIDS Alliance
Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB), the Food Program of Lifelong AIDS Alliance, provides nutrition services to people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties. CSB provides balanced groceries and medically specific meals for those with difficult to address dietary needs such as no gluten/no dairy, kidney dialysis restrictions, easy digestible foods, and nutritious but tasty soft foods for those with difficulty chewing and swallowing. CSB also offers individual nutritional counseling with our staff registered dietitians. The Client Services Communication Specialist supports our other program staff in maintaining contact with consumers of food and nutrition services, ensuring the accurate, timely, and accessible services are provided to clients. This position helps to identify individuals in need of nutrition support through outreach efforts, to enroll clients through scheduling of intakes and collection of eligibility documentation, and to provide information directly to consumers about services available to them. Chicken soup Brigade is about to launch new programs that empowers consumers to make specific food choices from our menus for every week. This Specialist will play an important role on both communicating with consumers, dietitians, and social service providers about their available diet choices and in troubleshooting all aspects of this exciting new facet of our services. This individual plays a large part in bridging cultural linguistic barriers to serve consumers from a wide diversity of backgrounds. CSB honors diversity and values experience in working with diverse populations and bilingual skills. CSB also believes that food is medicine. Because our consumers are enrolled in specialized diets and services are provided on very specific schedules, an eye for detail and patience are important qualities in a competitive candidate for this position. Knowledge and experience around HIV, heart disease, kidney disease and other chronic conditions are also considered big pluses.
