Placement Positions

Examples of LVC Positions

More about these examples of LVC positions
Each year, Lutheran Volunteer Corps matches 70-80 full time Volunteers with social justice non-profit organizations across the U.S. This directory provides an overview of placement positions for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 program years.  About 80% of LVC partner placement organizations re-apply each year and we also have new positions each year that may not yet be on this list.

LVC Applicants see available positions as part of the application and matching process, including more in depth position descriptions. To have the widest choice of positions, apply by our Round 1 January 15th deadline. There are significantly fewer positions available for the Round 2 April 1st deadline. Please contact recruitment@lutheranvolunteercorps.org if you have particular questions about available positions.

Communications Assistant – Ministry of Caring

Communications Assistant – Ministry of Caring
The Ministry of Caring is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization established in 1977 to assist under-served low-income and homeless clients. Nineteen programs connect individuals and families with the resources needed to survive and confront barriers to adequate housing, food-access, child care, good health, and adequate employment. All services are provided within the greater Wilmington area and align with the guiding principle, ''the poor should never be treated poorly.''

The Communications Assistant works closely with the Communications Director on in-house graphic design and writing projects. The volunteer will develop, research, interview and create materials in support of the Ministry of Caring's mission. Responsibilities may include content production or editing for newsletters, brochures, videos, social media posts, events publications, and various administrative tasks. One day/week, the LVC member will provide direct service within a Ministry of Caring program.
