Emergency Shelter Case Manager – Our Saviour’s Community Services
The Setting: Our Saviour's Housing operates a 40-46-bed emergency shelter in the city of Minneapolis for single adults of all genders who are experiencing homelessness. Our program works collaboratively with other single adult shelters in the city to provide more than simply shelter, but also the supports necessary for residents to resolve their homelessness.
The Position: The Emergency Shelter Case Manager meets weekly or more with residents to partner with them in creating a plan to resolve their homelessness. The Case Manager learns about the many social service resources available in our community and serves as a connector between the residents and these services. The Case Manager learns strength-based, person-centered approaches, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction philosophies that are proven to effectively assist people toward a more stable life. The Case Manager will develop skills in de-escalation, mediation, active listening, motivational interviewing, and restorative approaches.
