Each year, Lutheran Volunteer Corps matches approximately 50 full time Volunteers with social justice non-profit organizations in our program cities across the U.S. The directory below provides a SAMPLE list of placement positions for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 program years.  About 80% of LVC partner organizations re-apply each year; and in addition, we will have new positions that are not yet on the list.

LVC Applicants get to see the list of available positions as part of the application and matching process, including more in depth position descriptions.

To have the widest choice of positions, apply by our Round 1 January 15th deadline. There are significantly fewer positions available for the Round 2 April 1st deadline.

Organization Description
Health Care for the Homeless works to prevent and end homelessness for vulnerable individuals and families by promoting access to comprehensive health care, affordable housing, and sustainable incomes through direct service, advocacy and community engagement.
Position Description

The Referral Care Navigator ensures that vulnerable clients are able to access specialty medical services. The Navigator works in conjunction with the medical, referral, case management and outreach teams to make sure that clients who are identified as needing assistance with accessing specialty care understand how to get to their specialty appointments. Vulnerable clients include those with cognitive limitations, active substance abuse, and language barriers. Clients will be seen both on a walk-in and scheduled basis.

Health Care for the Homeless is a interdisciplinary health care clinic that provides whole-person care to people experiencing homelessness. The Referral Care Navigator will work with administrative and clinical staff to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
