Just Speak

Just Speak 2016 – Part 3

We were excited to hold a Just Speak! event again at this year’s national orientation. This is a chance for church and community leaders to encourage, inspire and challenge our incoming Volunteers as they start their year seeking peace with justice. Each of the speakers also took up our theme of the inner work of social justice work. Our capstone speaker was the fabulous LVC alum Xavier Thomas, who works at All Peoples Church in Milwaukee, WI. We know that Xavier’s pledge to walk alongside the new Volunteers during their year of service is echoed by so many LVC alumni, and we thank you forRead More →

We were excited to hold a Just Speak! event again at this year’s national orientation. This is a chance for church and community leaders to encourage, inspire and challenge our incoming Volunteers as they start their year seeking peace with justice. Each of the speakers also took up our theme of the inner work of social justice work. Our second speaker was the amazing and talented Maya Camille (Maya Gaines), Baltimore spoken word artist and our new LVC Operations Coordinator. Follow Maya on Twitter to keep up with her awesomeness. Maya camille Posted by Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) on Saturday, August 6, 2016Read More →

Spend a year investing in your faith, your values, and your career by applying to be an LVC Fellow! 💚 Our Fellows are assigned to full-time professional positions within their targeted industry, while helping address social justice causes like immigration reform, food insecurity, LGBTQIA+ rights, and governmental oversight. ⚖️The best part? The LVC gives fellows stipends that allow them to focus all of their energy on their work, while they live in intentional communities that they design with their peers! 👫It's not too late to apply to be a FY26/27 Fellow! ...
