Why A Year of Service Never Ends

A teacher of mine used to say that the why question is very important because it tells you a lot about yourself. June is a busy month at Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) as staff continue to recruit and prepare for the end of one cohort’s year and beginning of another cohort’s year in a few short months. It’s also a busy season for outgoing Volunteers as they think about finishing up their year and what comes next. Incoming Volunteers are busy with summer activities and for many, but not all, thinking about life after graduation. But, the question of why folks consider doing a serviceRead More →

New LVC Intern – Jamie Ulrich

Greetings! My name is Jamie Ulrich and I am the LVC National Office’s new intern! I am working as the Social Media Coordinator and will be helping out with managing LVC’s social media platforms, coming up with some new ideas for marketing LVC, and updating our database. I started in mid-January and will be here until mid-April, doing lots of great work for an amazing organization! I am doing my internship at LVC as a participant of the Lutheran College Washington Semester, which is a semester-long program comprised of students from various Lutheran colleges and universities from all over the country. In Memory of John Steinbruck

The Luther Place, N Street Village, LVC communities and beyond gathered on March 9, 2015 to celebrate the life, ministry and passion of Rev. John Steinbruck. LVC Presidents, past and present; pictured from left to right: Bob Holum, Sam Collins, Chris Bekemeier, and Mike Wilker. From Sam Collins’ letter about Rev. Steinbruck’s lasting impact, “John wouldn’t want to be credited as starting LVC, but gives credit to collaboration of Luther Place leaders. His work with the interfaith community also helped to expand LVC’s model of programming which we continue today.”Read More →

Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC)
The impact of the Lutheran Volunteer Corps is made possible through a powerful partnership among placement organizations, dedicated fellows, and generous supporters. Our placement partners are mentors and collaborators who provide fellows with opportunities to engage in meaningful work. Fellows bring energy and fresh perspective to their roles. At the heart of LVC, the fellows choose to live intentionally, serve wholeheartedly, and grow spiritually and personally throughout their year. Their courage to step into unfamiliar spaces, embrace challenge, and live out their values inspires transformation. The guidance and support they receive help them deepen their understanding of service.None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our donors, who help us sustain meaningful change. Your generosity ensures that this work continues. Together, we are building a stronger community every year.Apply Here to Become a Fellow>>> lutheranvolunteercorps.org/the-program/#Apply Here to Become a Placement Partner >>> lutheranvolunteercorps.org/the-program/# ...
