Katie Schroeder joined Lutheran Volunteer Corps as the Director of Advancement in August. Prior to joining the LVC team, she worked for College Possible, an organization that supports low-income students get to and through college. As an alum, Katie brings a unique perspective to her job in advancement. Lutheran Volunteer Corps Alumni Aaron Schmalzle and Pastor Jared Witt will soon be opening Castle Church Brewing Company in Orlando, FL. Malachi Black served last year as an LVC Volunteer at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. When asked about why he was drawn to LVC after college, he said that he was searching for something more than just a job. LVC has been working on its Capital Campaign to purchase the Dorothy Day Volunteer House for quite some time now. The campaign is well on its way to be completed and the purchase and sale agreement was signed just last week!
