At the Minnesota Housing Partnership, current Volunteer Laura Proescholdt, delved into the world of affordable housing advocacy. As the Development & Policy Associate, her typical day found her writing a blog post on a successful community development project in rural Minnesota, setting up and attending meetings between legislators and leaders in the affordable housing sector, sitting in on committee hearings at the State Capitol, or planning fundraising and engagement events. Maryl Fennie is a current Twin Cities Volunteer living in Wellstone House. She’s serving this year as the Pro Bono Coordinator at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota. She shares, “I chose to do LVC because it provided a valuable opportunity to gain work experience. I also appreciated the intentional community, an organization based in spirituality and living simply and sustainably.
